I don't know how you can really get rid of bias using these methods. Many stories deemed as 'fake' are actually opinion pieces that go against the current populus opinion.
I saw tons of fake Trump stories before the election that were spread around as 'fact'. Some were even used as political ads and then somehow is now the truth.
Algorithms are designed by humans that are biased and crowd sourcing will most likely be biased toward the college students using Facebook.
Even many of the 'fact checkers' during the election were wrong or completely biased against Trump. Some of the checking was so wrong, I almost thought I was reading the onion.
This unfairness was part of the reason Trump was elected in the first place. The mainstream media is so biased toward the left, I almost can't read it anymore.
I thought that after the election, we would smarten up and fix the bias. Instead, we are now trying to make it completely one-sided and bury/silence anyone with an opposing political opinion.
This won't fix our problems. It will only further divide our nation.
