I'd rather read a "Crossbrowser websockets in 5 minutes" article
Kind of lost credibility in the first sentence. The only reason Ajax is so simple now is because libraries like Jquery simplify the complex problems of cross-browser compatibility with a simple, common Api. This is all possible thanks to all those long confusing posts on Ajax that the author doesn't get.
