Ask HN: Why are my submissions invisible to all but me?

4 points by omegasoftapps ↗ HN
Hello All, I recently noticed that all of my submissions can't be seen by anyone except myself when I am logged in. The user name in question is omegasoft (I made this account just so this post could be visible). I am still pretty new to all of this so perhaps I have run afoul of the system somehow. I know one submission I made (not the most recent one) was not correct; but I'm not sure if that's the cause. Can someone please tell me a proper course of action to fix my account, and notes on how to be a better submitter; thanks!

Arg; I thought this was going to go under the "ask" tab. Man I really stink at this!
It's not on the 'ask' tab because it doesn't have enough votes yet.

EDIT: And now this has 3 votes, and I see it at the top of the 'ask' tab.

Stories can be killed if they are flagged (as spam / off-topic) by several people, but given that omegasoft is shown as having 17 karma (http://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=omegasoft) I find it a bit peculiar that there isn't a single submission (http://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=omegasoft) or commend (http://news.ycombinator.com/threads?id=omegasoft) shown.

Maybe the account was marked as being spammy and all of its associated submissions and comments were nuked? I think this is an 'Ask PG', not an 'Ask HN'.

Thanks for the replies. It is strange because I had maybe 5 submissions; some of which were upvoted around 7 times or so. The only submission I now realize was bad was a press release about a new release of one of our apps. So that got my entire account nuked I guess? I suppose I should just post further news under this name then?

Edit: Hi PG; Again, I'm new at this so I'm not sure what you mean. I posted the link to my submissions on an iPhone developer forum I frequent; asking other developers to check them out and upvote if its useful. Is that what you mean by bogus? If so I'm sorry and won't do it again. I think you just banned this account as well so that is why I am saying this in an edit. I want to be a useful contributing member here; I am reading the guidelines over again now. I apologize again; please be fair with me. Thank you.

It was not so much the content of your posts as the bogus upvotes on them.
