Ask HN: How did you overcome the trough of sorrow for your startup?
Getting the initial excitement is somewhat straightforward: post to HN, reddit, PH, FB, Google+ and hope it gets noticed.
After that comes the trough of sorrow. We don't hear much about how people overcome the trough of sorrow and go on to grow their userbase.
If you have a successful startup or have seen people build one, how did you/they overcome this?

I think the trough is more mentally manageable this way.
Stop chasing the excitement because businesses are generally boring. Find excitement somewhere else in your life.
