Told you a week ago this would happen Mike. Consistently obtaining some early votes isn't even like consistently writing the incredible content you would need to naturally get on the front page three times a week.
But it's a good thing cause now you can consider whether HN scales or converts well enough to bother building a company for - your 1st submissions's 16k visitors has only become ~2x that over a good bit of time, you can count on unpopular content to occur a lot too.
