Ask HN: Common Lisp or Python for Quantum “Hacking”

1 points by sk1zzyk1d ↗ HN
As far as I know D-Wave Systems are still the only source of computers that are identifiable as "quantum" (although what constitutes a quantum computer continues to evolve). The D-Wave line of adiabatic quantum computers contain an OS programmed in Common Lisp (Steel Bank SBLC). This leads me to ask whether someone who primarily programs in Python can hope to branch into quantum code hacking or if CL will be the norm in quantum computing software development, meaning proficiency in Lisp should be obtained. I realize the question will be asked "What do you intend to program under the quantum computing umbrella?" In short, I don't know yet, but as a security professional who does pentesting, I know this will be the heart of my activities.
