Ask HN: Isn't a Lightning McQueen around the corner?

Self driving cars are here and a racetrack is a (super) simplified version of city roads, i.e. maximizing speed on a lap w/out crashing should be a simpler problem.

Just like computers playing Go, can't they beat pro drivers easily?
