Ask HN: Minimally privacy conscious group messaging

some friends of mine and I are looking for a group mobile messaging solution that doesnt vacuum up all our personal data (to replace group text messages).

We don't need encryption, I just dont want a solution that has a business model of "you get our service, you give us ALL THE DATAS"

any good solutions for this?
