Ask HN: Have you ever rebranded a domain fora new project?

I own a domain that was formerly linked to a now unmaintained open source project. I also own the open source project (I created it). The domain currently just forwards to the github page and thats it.

I am considering using that domain for another project, but I was wondering if anyone has ever done this, and if so, what issues did you run into along the way?

Is there anything that might make this a bad decision?

Or do you have any general advice about rebranding a domain for a new project?

I assume this is easier than trying to rename an existing company, but I could be wrong there. Any feedback would be amazing :)
