I'm guessing the card wasn't actually released yet when this was written and is based on PR. The vague claims, like, "the GTX 1080 is about twice as powerful as Nvidia’s Titan X", could be arguably correct about certain stats, but an fps benchmark will dissuade you that this is true overall.
