Ask HN: What are some light (not bloated) websites?
Sites like Hacker News, Sublevel, and Pinboard are beautifully simple in a world full of bloated JavaScript heavy websites. At times it feels like the web equivalent of coreutils; light, fast, do one thing - do it well.
Pinboard has a membership fee rather than advertising or selling your data. There also aren't any third party dependencies when you're logged in to help protect your privacy.
I'd like to put together a list of these sorts of sites. There has to be more out there. What websites (like HN/Pinboard) do you use? They're fast to load, pull in very little (or no) junk, respect privacy, etc...? Ideally have membership fees over advertising/you-are-the-product-being-sold.
