It is probably not a conquincidence that yesterday the US administration announced the new rules on tablets and laptops from certain high risk countries. This won't be a popular opinion here on HN, but these rules and procedures are aimed to protect US citizens. This is why we have intelligence. They were probably hearing and picking up chatter.
the article suggests that chatter in terrorist networks increased after the new rules were put in place. Hard to say whether that's good or bad, but it at least shows that they may have to change strategies.
