Ask HN: Would you take a seed round paid out tied to milestones?

I asked this previously - it got a few points but exactly zero replies.

Point-blank: would you take a seed round that was not paid in once, but tied to milestones - or is this a death warrant on a company? I mean at the very first, seed-stage capital. Would you do it?
