Ask HN: Any car recommendations for my parents?

I want my parents (who are getting up there in age but still drive) to get a new car with safety features. They don't need anything fancy, but lane assist, collision avoidance, help service like On-Star, are some features that may allow them to drive a few more years.

I agree these features are not a substitute for a good driver, but would give everyone more confidence behind the wheel.
