Help – How can I better protect my Instagram account?

I have tried numerous times to contact Instagram through email and their support page without any luck. Therefore I am reaching out to the only community of smart technie people I know of.

I have a generic one word, four letter instagram account which I signed up for in early 2010. I use it as my personal account and wish to keep doing so going forward.

In the last 6 months I have been getting a large number of reset password requests for that account. Sometimes 5 per day!

As a result I have changed my password to a very long alphanumeric password in hopes that it will help with the security of the account.

Is there anything else I should be doing to make sure this account does not get taken over?
