Advocate Launching to Help New Generation Engage with Politics

Today, Advocate (www.advocate.io) announces the launch of its political action and insights platform.

At a time when many US citizens are trying to find stable footing following the 2016 presidential race emerges Advocate, a startup that bills itself as the network for political action and insights. Unlike many of the politically-focused startups that were conceived as a corrective response to the 2016 elections however, Advocate has been in the works for quite a while.

Advocate was born in what felt like a very different time in the political landscape when co-founders Jason Andrews and Chris Bystrom met in mid-2015 to discuss their ideas to transform Democracy. Both were extremely disturbed by the lack of modern citizen-focused tools and vowed to utilized their extensive product, digital, and design backgrounds to solve the challenges of politics.

For politicians, Advocate serves as an advocacy platform that they can use to empower and amplify their existing supporter base. For local politicians, Advocate can function as their digital headquarters providing them everything they need to begin campaigning and set up a digital presence. For more sophisticated politicians and campaigns, Advocate can slot between existing CRM and mail tools as an engagement layer on the front end.

Chris sums up the team’s hopes for success by saying, “We believe that good UX and design will allow technology to disrupt and transform a very staid American ideal; Democracy. He adds, “It’s been a bumpy ride because quite frankly, there are some in this space who probably don’t want to see us succeed but someone is going to crack the code and we think we’ve got the platform to pull it off.” There will be a lot of folks anxiously watching to see if Advocate has the winning formula.
