Ask HN: When was the last time you got a non-work related email from a human?
I looked through my personal inbox, and in the last three months I've received 2 emails (out of several hundred) that are from real people reaching out to me, personally. Everything else is a newsletter, receipt or marketing from services I use.
It seems like social media has almost totally replaced email's person-to-person function, leaving it as a holding area for automated messages about stuff I might need to act on later.
But none of this is remotely true in my work email, which is still filled with messages from colleagues and clients.
