Recommendation Engine Find-The-Good vs. Avoid-The-Bad

Are there any suggestion engines which, rather than showing you things you may like based on things you like (which results in pigeonholing / homogenised experience), instead try to avoid things you don't like.

i.e. the algorithm's very similar, except that it aids you to discover things you wouldn't have found before, whilst avoiding stuff you probably won't like; rather than going for the stuff you'll definitely like but would have likely discovered anyway.
