If you think dumb games can't be satisfying, just look at cookie clicker, a game where you click a cookie. I don't like games that much but it kept me entertained for over a month.
A Dark Room stands head and shoulders above others, IMO. It's very aesthetically pleasing, has good story with a twist, and gameplay changes several times while you're progressing.
