Ask HN: How do you operate an SV startup as a foreigner?

In order to operate a company in the US, you need a visa. A B1/B2 visa is generally not sufficient to operate a company in the US, so I assume you'd need at least an E2. Acquiring an E2 does not seem to be easy.

How do people do this? Do they just arrive on a B2 and illegally operate their business?

Can you recommend lawyers who are experienced with this stuff?
