Ask HN: '1000+' new items in the RSS feed. How would you deal with this?

I love reading the articles on HN, however the quantity of the submissions is certainly damn large now. Is there any way of using the readable rss feed thanks to http://andrewtrusty.appspot.com/readability/ and http://nirmalpatel.com/hacks/hnrss.html, but with only articles that have made the front page? Otherwise the feed quickly reaches the thousands of articles, but I don't want to miss out on the great content here. Or how would you solve this?
