Ask HN: Animals with AI-augmented intelligence?

There's a lot of word around how AI could eventually change the human experience, but do you any current studies involving animals?

Trying to keep this question pretty broad here, I'd be curious to know if there are papers out there on, for example, accurately "reading" mice-minds, successfully/unsuccessfully enhancing their memory? Is a Google Translate for barking in the making that you know of?
