My girlfriend had to deal with it everyday, from our former tyrant boss. He was this big fat Greek guy who knew it all and he had to be the alpha male, which meant that everyone else was inferior. This also gave him the right to harass the females, for whatever reason.

He harassed the males by making them feel stupid and insignificant. He would ask me to come up with ideas for his business and I'd draw out plans and all that; he'd tell me how terrible they were, than he'd add his own "spin" to it, which all he really ever did was change the name of whatever project.. and then all of a sudden, it became this great idea, but it was now his idea.

It definitely sucks, because he was the owner of his own company, so who do you report it to? Many women over the years went beyond and complained to whatever federal agencies there were, but not every woman will do that.

Anyways, he would stand behind her, breathe heavy, and just watch her, as if he was getting excited doing that. He would make comments her way like "you know how you could earn more money here, right?" One time, my co-worker caught him.. doing something that can never be unseen in his office (if you care to read.. mature audiences only: http://www.confessionsoftheprofessions.com/to-his-head-liter... )

He once invited her on a business trip, claiming he needed her because she was a great saleswoman. He attempted to only pay for a single motel room with a single bed. Luckily, the show was down in Florida, where she had plenty of family, so she invited her Uncle to spend time with her, and he ended up just paying for a motel room for her and he spent time with her to make sure she wasn't alone with the boss.

Me and her were in his office once in a meeting, discussing promotional offerings and things like that, and he used a derogatory term, and called her a b*tch, and proceeded to call me weak, because he thought I'd follow along and gang on her, but I refused to follow in his footsteps and call her such a name. I couldn't even tell you everything, but you can definitely read more about the rest of what we went through here: http://www.confessionsoftheprofessions.com/the-opportunity/

I spent a year and a half putting up with him. She had about 2 years in... before we both finally moved on, first getting separate jobs, and then finally, we somehow managed to get another job together.

There is certainly no excuse for any man, boss or co-worker, to think that sexual harassment in any form, verbal or physical, is acceptable. It is most definitely not. Women, just like men, have every right to go to work and deserve to feel comfortable in their place of work free from all forms of harassment. Women deserve to be treated as professionals who have as much influence and inspiration as any man. She was like my better half, even when we weren't dating, and she always seemed to compliment my ideas, or I complimented hers. We definitely brought that guy in so many new customers, but he just refused to respect anyone. And so... it was an experience, but I'm happy to say we've both moved on, and never had to deal with anything like that again.

Why do you post a question and replace it with a dot when it does not gain traction??
