I was wondering, too. Maybe this is a common abbreviation?
> I also didn't see a threat in this long story.
This article is about harassment. The central points are:
(Quoted from the article, numbering added)
1. First, Altman posts an easily disprovable lie about our relationship with an advertiser
2. When we rebut that lie, with concrete proof, he changes his claim
3. When we rebut that lie, he goes silent for a few hours before…
4. He doubles down by darkly hinting that he has compromising/damaging info about Sarah/Pando’s ethics
5. He posts a statement insisting he’s the victim and repeating the claim that he knows something
dark and secret about Pando. A claim that will continue to float around the Internet despite being
entirely baseless
The term "threat" seems to refer either to the harassment in general, or specifically to the spreading of FUD as described in points 4 and 5.
Assuming the article is correct, each in itself is bad enough.
So Pando responds to baseless claims with more baseless claims :) If I was founder of YC and a website attacks me using words like "threat", I'd also find it suspicious.
Did I overlook something? As far as I can see, the article backs up their relevant claims with links to public sources.
Which claims do you mean?
(To be more precise: There is a lot of ranting in this article, and digressions about Altman's motivation are of course purely speculative. But all relevant claims seem to be backed up with sources.)
