Ask HN: How do I buy solar eclipse glasses and ensure they are real?

There are lots of options on Amazon, but I cannot think of a way to reliably buy them and ensure they are real. I would be comfortable taking the risk of payment if I could test them, but I cannot figure out how to test them.

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this successfully without risking damaging my eyes?
