So much for Uber's blitzscaling
I think Uber will face similar fate in south east asia by combining with Grab. Only India seems be the only market where it can compete and win with local rival ola
There are other markets like Pakistan which are fairly under penetrated ( Careem )
Uber always was a 'bits and atoms' company according to its CEO Travis Kalanick unlike a puely internet based company like facebook and google. It is difficult for companies which have major chunk of operations to expand globally and win in the local markets. Only company which seems to have done it is Amazon
I think they never should have focussed on Self driving tech so early on in their journey. They should have won the market share globally first and then maybe focus on any kind of RnD. Business lesson is how laser sharp focus is the key
FYI: user cpt_snowcrash submits net.xyz domain only, users clayjen, ruchirs, reekapp, samvrk comment only in cpt_snowcrash's submissions

Flag this.

Why do people do this on HN? Karma grinding or just promoting their xyz.net domain?

PS I found this submission while researching whether there is any discussion on HN about this uber&yandex cooperation.
