Ask HN: With lots of scala experience, debating elixir for project

I recently joined a team as a lead of engineering and we're deep in debate about trialing elixir. I have deep scala experience in very successful projects (Google exit!) I wrote a book on Akka and am very comfortable with the ideas and paradigms baked into Elixir but am skeptical of the dynamic type system. Can anyone offer some real world experience to help push these decisions forward. Right now we're ready to trial elixir. I understand you can do type checking in it. I'm just looking for some real world feedback that might help give me some confidence.

We have scala and ruby in the code base. Elixir looks like it's somewhere in between.
