Ask HN: Security cameras for a rented home?

So, our neighborhood has had a rash of thefts in the recent weeks and we have some upcoming vacations. I'd like to get a system of Wifi cameras setup for the house with a DVR recorder. I despise IoT in general, especially with regards to security, so I'm hoping the HN community can steer me towards a brand or particular model to go for?

I was also looking at the open source project ZoneMinder as a way to run the DVR portion. I'm not afraid of a little work, I've got plenty of time clocked into Linux, so either just the cameras or cameras + DVR would be good by me.

Only real requirement: It is a duplex we rent, so it has to use wireless cameras.
