Ask HN: Good companies for remote DevOps person?

2 points by available_hire ↗ HN
I'm looking for new challenges in the DevOps space.

It seems all small/medium-sized companies are using SaaS CI/CD solutions and so the work of DevOps at these companies is greatly diminished. Just set up a few recipes, configure repositories and let developers work.

So I'm thinking working for one of these DevOps SaaS companies might be ideal for someone with more experience and the desires to keep their hands dirty with infrastructure work.

Does anyone know good companies operating in the DevOps SaaS area that embrace remote workers?

Another option is to apply at Google Cloud, AWS, Azure.. but they only seem to be looking for high-profile CS grads from major universities (and they don't seem friendly to remote workers). I'm more of a generalist with lots of Linux experience (I've coded some kernel drivers but my thing is distributed systems design, maintenance, troubleshooting, etc).

Any advice?
