Super interesting! I also work exclusively on open source and am somewhat nomadic. My family and I are currently camping in the Masai Mara, and moved to Kenya a year ago from the UK. We have no Kenyan clients so it was purely a personal decision to move here. I don't see us moving away from Kenya by choice, but we will almost certainly move around within Kenya (we already have once within a year). We're less flexible because we have employees, pets (dog and cat came from UK), and will never abandon them. Overall we've found this lifestyle to be liberating, extremely hard work, but so rewarding in terms of personal fulfilment and opportunities for moral fulfilment that it is unequivocally worth doing if you can create the opportunity.
