I tried using Mandrill but they got bought out by Mailchimp and I never really could get a handle on what they'd be charging me.

I looked at Google but they were to expensive for my purposes and I was uneasy about user data being stored on their servers. Same with Zoho and a few others.

I ended up setting up my own mail server using "Mail-in-a-Box" and, while that route hasn't been hurdle free, I have been very happy with that option and would recommend it to those who can use it.
