I wish people stopped using the term fascist. It's been abused and overused to the point of becoming meaningless. An upsetting instance of usage of this term, for me, was when it was applied to the anti-government protesters in Ukraine by the pro-Russians. Let's just agree to restrict this term to the supporters of Mussolini and the similar movements in spirit around WWII.

If you really want to apply this term to somebody today, and if you want me to take you seriously, you can't just throw it around casually, but you have to carefully justify your usage by providing historical information. And here honesty should force you to point out not only the similarities, but also the differences.

Good lord, that was tough to read.

Is it just me or is this if-you-don't-agree-with-me-you're-a-fascist/racist/Nazi/alt-right-nonsense getting a little bit out of hand?

It must be real nice to say "I support X, and anyone who disagrees with my thoughts or views on X is a Y," with "Y" being any of the normal litany of pejoratives used to silence your opponent.
