This is a potentially great idea. Using Tor hidden services with auth cookies is a clever way to hide the deeper layers. I wonder how they will mitigate the extra latency though.
This sounds pretty clever use of Tor, regardless of their actual app. But as always with security there might be unintended interactions. Does anyone know if proxying one hidden service to another is safe?
