Ask HN: What did you think of Trump's speech at the UN?
First let me say that I think Donal Trump is a dick. I voted for Hillary Clinton, not because I like anything about her, but because I felt that electing Donald Trump would be an embarrassment to my country and I couldn't be a part of it. However, at times I have found myself siding with Trump, not because he was right, but because the U.S. press has been so biased against him that they have undermined their own credibility. They would lie, cheat, or steal to bring him down, to the point of failing to deliver the news. If I want to find out about a hurricane or an earthquake, I must find a news agency that isn't talking about Trump's latest insults on Twitter (which isn't possible). Tonight, I went on Youtube and found the full content of Trump's speech today at the UN. I found it to be, at a minimum, the most important speech ever delivered at the UN by a U.S. president. I don't remember any U.S. president calling out (with such specificity and detail) the dangerous, evil, and corrupt nations of the world (North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela). I don't for a minute believe that Trump wrote, or could have written the speech. However, he chose to deliver it. So I'm asking: have you seen/heard the full speech, and what did you think?

[ 4.6 ms ] story [ 14.8 ms ] threadIt seems like he's not going to let go of the North Korea issue. My feeling is he's trying to pressure China into dealing with North Korea. I think the big bold aggressive UN speech is all just part of keeping the pressure on China. We'll see how this turns out though, the Chinese aren't dummies.
