Associated Press kills RSS feeds

It appears the Associated Press has killed it's RSS feeds.It does say they are having issues: http://aphelp.ap.org ; but, I contacted them and received the response below.

    The RSS feeds will never work again.  The reference to 
    webfeeds, this is a product that customers have access 
    to and it requires a username and password.

I don't understand why a non-profit would make it's content less accessible.

I apologize if this is published somewhere, but I didn't find it.
