Ask HN: For those in tech security, do you get paranoid?
Lately I've become more interested in data, network and pretty much all forms of security within tech, and have been researching a variety of topics and learning a lot in the process.
My question is for those of you who have been doing this for a while or for a living. Do you find yourself paranoid about your home network and devices, and all the personal information on them? The more I learn and understand about security, the more I find myself worried that there are others out there who are smarter and more organized that could cause me harm if they directed their efforts to me.
Does this get better over time? Is it not worth worrying about because of the unlikelihood of it happening?
I don't consider myself a targeted individual, but the question of what-if creeps into my mind at times, especially with all the recent news and media.
