brb. Buying some shoes in the hopes that wearing the same thing as an investor will make my company not suck. Just like wearing Jordans made all those kids jump higher.

Hmm. Don't care too much about SV fashion, but as a loafer enthusiast, having machine washable, sockless, general-purpose shoes sounds very cool.

A bit dubious about their durability, however - the article mentions that the first generation wore out quickly, and the images on their site seem limited to users on manmade surfaces or relatively flat ground.

Does anyone know how they hold up under more intensive use (biking, hiking, scrambling)?

I personally think Allbirds are incredibly generic and bland. I see so many people wearing them in San Francisco and I just don't understand the hype.

I get the convenience angle, but I enjoy developing a personal style at some level and I feel these just aren't interesting to look at. I think that's a shame.
