Buzzfeed has published a (maybe suprisingly) well-researched, hard-hitting piece of journalism titled "Here's How Breitbart And Milo Smuggled Nazi and White Nationalist Ideas Into The Mainstream", and it casts Peter Thiel in a less-than-favorable light.

------------

From the article: 'Yiannopoulos also had a private relationship with the venture capitalist Peter Thiel, though he was more circumspect than some other correspondents. . . .

In an email exchange shortly after the election, Yarvin told Yiannopoulos that he had been “coaching Thiel.”

“Peter needs guidance on politics for sure,” Yiannopoulos responded.

“Less than you might think!” Yarvin wrote back. “I watched the election at his house, I think my hangover lasted into Tuesday. He’s fully enlightened, just plays it very carefully.” '

Comment or link. If you want to do both, then submit the link, and post your comments down here with everyone else.
I know he's not the most liked, but I am not sure this kind of post - not even a link that can stand and fall on its own - really belongs on HN. Flagging.
I think you meant to post this to reddit.com/r/politics
Anyone who's even remotely surprised by this hasn't been paying attention. Thiel's politics are disgusting.

I still think this "white nationalism" thing is a false flag designed to stoke anger on the left.

Not clear from the article if it's equating white nationalism with white supremacy. In moderation, there's nothing wrong with nationalism...one should be proud of their country. Branding it as "white" makes it sound sinister.

"Supremacy" is a totally different animal which is actually dangerous and hateful.

According to the article, one of the "starkest" illustrations of this "hate-filled" movement is "raised arms" in a "Nazi salute" while Yiannopoulos sung at a karoake bar in Dallas.

I wonder if these "raised arms" were anything like the "Nazi salutes" that Pewdiepie was trashed for, but turned out to be total bullshit.

Also, Milo just married a black guy.
