Ask HN: How to fix today's engineer interview system?

I think the problem for current system is 'the scope is too narrow', for those famous IT companies, they ask Algo/Data structure questions, but for most of them, they only ask certain sets of questions. Let's say there are 100 questions in algo/data structure domain, I know 50 of them and they are distributed very evenly, but a company only asks the 20 of them, unfortunately, I only know 2 out of these 20, then I failed. But it doesn't mean I am really that bad in algo/data structure. So, my idea is a platform having PASS functionality, if I saw question I don't know, I simply pass, I answer question I know. Also, it has dynamic difficulty, if I answered a question with difficulty 5, then next question will be 6. Also, it should contain algo/concepts/small projects/etc, different styles
