Why would anyone choose Docker over fat binaries? (smashcompany.com)

Just a sidenote, a part of this article reminded me of the RFC2110 - The naming of hosts, an old april fools RFC.

I wondered this myself 2 years ago and went with fat binaries (uber jars, actually.) Unfortunately fat binaries aren't an option for many languages...
