The headline (which is in the original, not an HN change) is dishonest political spin: the body of the article clearly stated that the email with the discriminatory message was denounced by the DNC.
(Also, “white males” is inaccurate by being overbroad in both the headline and body, the quoted section of the email requests that the information not be forwarded to cisgender straight white males.)
I don’t see how it’s inaccurate. The email was an honest communication from a DNC hiring manager in their Tech department. Potential candidates should feel that they will be discriminated against in their hiring practice and in their day to day interactions. We should apply the same standard to this racist we would if they were discriminating against black, gay, tran, women, etc.
It's Fox, but no need to shoot the messenger. The fact of the matter is it happened.
And who cares if it was denounced. The DNC a political organization - of course they are going to walk back anything that isn't 100% PC.
The real issue - and I think a LOT of us in tech are beginning to understand this - is that there really is a concerted effort to discriminate against white (and Asian) men.
I've seen it, and whether you agree or not, it is something we should be free to discus, instead of being swept under the rug for fear of being targeted as a misogynist, racist, or some other deplorable.
EDIT: As if on cue, the post has been Flagged. Can't have those pesky users discussing an issue that goes against the sacred diversity narrative.
