Ask HN: Best Compact PC for Programming on Linux

3 points by k_bx ↗ HN
Hi.

I compile a lot (Haskell), and Linux is more comfortable for doing my programming job than my Macbook Pro's macOS is, but the problem with all desktop PCs is that they're all HUGE. I want something I can put at my coworking desktop that'd be a gaming console or Mac Mini size, not a tower-sized thing.

This market seems to be mostly ignored by manufacturers, from what I can tell. Is there anyone using this setup and who can recommend something or is this market really dead at the moment?

Thank you.

Dell precision 1700T SFF (small form factor) with an i7 is solid. Only goes up to 16GB RAM. Would like to see a SFF PC with 64GB or more.
16 is ideal for me, will check it out, thanks!
what did you think?
Looks much better than the huge towers for sure, but I can't find it in my country (Ukraine), unfortunately.
