Most people don't bother, most people don't care. I put the cross-references because I don't like to see the discussion split between sites/submissions/pages. I prefer to see a coherent discussion in one place.
There's no problem with submitting different articles about the same thing, sometimes the better article is only found later.
First, this is a dupe, it's been already on HN (via Engadget[1] as it's even linked in this article)
Second, "holycrapawesome" in the title annoys me even more than the "ginormous" in the original Engadget title (which is actually a dictionary word, apparently). Oh well, I'd better tell kids to get off my lawn or something.
