Ask HN: Market research resources for pre-seed founders?

Looking for resources to help 1) validate the economics of a potential product and 2) tell a compelling pitch story backed by data.

Libraries, open access journals and the google are obvious places to start. Where else might one look?

I'm particularly interested in information about the music industry, but general recommendations are welcome.
