Ask HN: Newsletter platform suggestions

2 points by gkya ↗ HN
Hi! I'm planning to start a digital culture newsletter as a hobby. Searching for platform options to use for sending emails, I though asking the HN crowd would maybe help me find the perfect fit. What I'm looking for is:

- Plain-text emails: I'll send plain-text only emails. Because I'd rather receive plain-text ones.

- No tracking: I don't need it. Knowing how many subscribers I have should be more than enough.

- No tracking links: I do not want the service to obscure the links behind tracking links. I don't need to track what readers do with the mails. Mailchip does this.

- No lock-in: I should be able to export my data at any time and say bye.

- Initially free: I'm a student, and I'd rather not invest any money in this until it's got some traction and can pay its bills through for example a Patreon campaign. The free until N subscribers plans would be the most useful.

And finally I'd like to avoid anything anti-privacy, as I value privacy very highly myself.

I plan to spend this weekend reading ToSs and FAQs so any help is more than appreciated. Thanks in advance!
