Ask HN: Life as software developer vs. product manager

As a rookie in the tech industry, I was wondering what the work-life balance is like for software developer vs product manager in the U.S.? From what I read on Reddit, Quora, and HN is that developers would have a more relaxed life style with the possibility of working remotely. Product manager would have to be in meetings in person with various teams/clients. It seems like product manager has a huge responsibility, and I would be stressed out even if I go on a vacation. Could anyone with more insight/experience give me some realistic perspectives?
