The stripe golang api is actually really pleasant to work with, the whole thing is 6kb of front-end in an s3 bucket and a 23 lines of go on a $4/month scaleway server. #bootstrapping
The stripe API has fraud detection built in to it, we've set our integration to reject at the lowest threshold for fraud, and we report that back to the user as the reason their transaction failed.
