Base account is (and will most likely always be) free.

The idea here is that many people want to use Amazon S3, but have neither the technical skills nor the understanding of ACLs, keys, blah, blah.

In fact, I can't tell you how many times I've heard people tell me that just signing up for Amazon S3 is "way too hard."

Okay, so if your position is "why do we need this? there are firefox plugins..", then ask yourself why we still need dial-up networking, or opening instructions on cans and bottles, or "starter PCs".

The target user doesn't even know what a firefox plugin is, and most likely doesn't even use Firefox, so that's not an option. They want a cheap way to stream media, or store files, and DropBox isn't an option because it terminates the file-share links after a certain time. Additionally, it's not designed to understand media.. just upload and download files.

To fill this need, my team created SimpleS3.com.

Among many other features, it offers cut & paste players (and a player builder in the paid accounts) for most media types including Windows Media and QuickTime.

Any input you can share, positive or negative, is massively appreciated.
