Yep. I called out the claims about the VC party- more than 3 people who attended the party are on record saying what she claimed occur, didn't- and that includes a woman who stayed until the morning.
That's not to say there aren't huge problems, but we owe it to ourselves to be honest in our reporting.
Yes, I also agree: this only exacerbates the problem. And there is a problem. A good example was the Aziz Ansari babe.net article. I would self-describe as a feminist and it was great that the woman was able to tell her story but I think the reporter did damage to the discussion by _the way_ she told it. We have to be able to critique reporting in order to insist that it is better or it will only get worse.
Ironic that you use "hysterical" to attack a book about overwhelming male culture. A note on the word's etymology:
It's a word with a very female-baiting history,
