Ask HN: Have you ever committed career suicide?

I sent some feedback containing colorful language about something that really rubbed me the wrong way. It was anonymous but I think my boss knows it was me. Normally I would just go talk about it and have a nice rational inquisitive conversation to try and understand the motivation behind it first and then state I disagreed with it and just spoke my mind but the feedback form was just open and it kinda just happened (sigh never again). No amount of mental gymnastics is making this feeling of wanting to curl up in a ball and die. Is this normal?
